Q-1      When will you announce the new admission?

 

Ans:   Please check the newspapers in the first week of September.

 

Q-2      From where I can get a copy of Prospectus and Application Form?

 

Ans:    Prospectus will be available from all PAF information and selection centres, which includes the application form in it.  It will only be sold during the time period mentioned in newspaper advertisements.

 

Q-3      Can I get a copy of prospectus by mail?

 

Ans:    Yes, please send a bank draft covering the cost of prospectus + Rs 50 (postal charges) in favour of Principal PAF Public School Sargodha after the announcement of admission.  Admission Section PAF Public School Sargodha will dispatch you a copy of prospectus by registered mail immediately.

 

Q-4      What is the cost of prospectus?

 

Ans:    It may vary every year.  Please check the newspaper advertisement and website in September.

 

Q-5      Which Newspaper should we consult for your advertisement?

 

Ans:    Our advertisement will appear in the following dailies:

            Jang, Express, Khabrain, The News and Dawn

 

Q-6      What is the eligibility criteria?

 

Ans:

            (a) AgeThe candidate must be over 11 ½ years or under 13 ½ years of age on 1st January of the year of admission.  No relaxation whatsoever, in the age limit is permitted.

 

(b)  Qualification:  During selection the candidate should be in class VII / VIII.

 

(c)   Citizenship:  Must be a male citizen of Pakistan or Azad Kashmir.

 

Q-7      Where should we submit Application Form?

 

Ans:    Please mail / submit duly completed Application Form accompanied by four passport size photographs to Admission Section PAF Public School Sargodha.

 

 Q-8      What subjects will be tested in the written test?

 

Ans:    Follow subjects will be tested in the written test:

            English, Urdu, General Science and Mathematics

 

Q-9      What is the syllabus for these tests?

 

Ans:    The syllabus for the test is same as the syllabus prescribed for 7th level by the local text book board.  Further details are available in the prospectus and at web, please consult.

 

Q-10   What is the standard of questions in the written test?

 

Ans:    The questions will be of 7th class level.

 

Q-11   Is there any special quota for different areas of the country?

 

Ans:    No, there is no provision of quota or reserved seats of any kind at this institution.  The selection is made  purely on merit at all stages.

 

Q-12   How many candidates are inducted every year?

 

Ans:    80 candidates.

 

Q-13   Is there any seat available on self finance?

 

Ans:    Presently, no

 

Q-14   Please name the cities of Pakistan where a candidate can appear for tests.

 

Ans:    Candidate can choose any one of the following centers nearest to his home town or school:

Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sargodha, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Karachi, Quetta

 

Q-15   Is there any test venue abroad?

 

Ans: No

 

Q-16   Is it possible for a candidate to appear in the tests from a foreign country?

Ans:    Yes, if he fulfils our eligibility criteria.  Select a centre of your choice in Pakistan and appear in the tests on the given dates.   

 

Q-17   Can you select the candidates for ground branches of Pakistan Air Force?

 

Ans:    No, initial induction is only made for GD(P).  However, lowering of medical category during training may convert the branch to aeronautical engineering or any other.

 

Q-18   What will happen to a candidate after 5 years of training at this School?

 

Ans:    Candidates after completing their FSc here at Sargodha, are to appear and pass, ISSB and CMB before being asked to join the PAF Academy Risalpur.    

 

Q-19   Can a female candidate apply for admission at this School?

 

Ans:    No, this institute can induct only the male candidates but female candidates can join Pakistan Air Force after FSc, applying directly through nearest PAF Information and Selection Center.

 

Q-20   Is it possible to get the age relaxation?

 

Ans:    No, there is no provision of age relaxation in upper or lower limit as per policy.

 

Q-21   Can I get admission in first year class?

 

Ans:    No, we induct the students only in 8th class.

 

Q-22   If a student falls in the given age bracket but studying in 9th class, can he apply?

 

Ans:    No, he is not eligible as per our criteria.

 

Q-23   What is the fee?

 

Ans:    There is no fee.  Education, Messing, Bedding, Clothing etc. are provided free of cost to the students.  However, nominal charges are charged by the parents @ Rs 1500 per month from 8th, 9th and 10th class students and @Rs 1700 per month from the students of 11th and 12th year.  This money is paid to the students in the form of pocket money and spent on picnics, visits, development projects etc.

  

 

Q-25   What is the location of the School in Sargodha?

 

Ans: PAF Public School is situated on Queen’s Chowk, PAF Road, close to the PAF Base Mushaf.

 

 

Q-26   Is it a residential School?

 

Ans:    Yes, it is 100% residential School.

 

Q-27   What type of subjects taught here.

 

Ans:    Only pre-engineering subjects are taught here.

 

Q-28   Is there any Scholarship offered to students.

 

Ans:   Yes, in Addition to the scholarships offered by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sargodha, following scholarships are offered to students for their outstanding performance in academics.

 

            Chief of the Air staff Scholarship

            This scholarship is granted from the School funds.  A percentage of School dues are waived off for the recipients. CAS scholarship is awarded to only those students who’s parents apply for financial assistance from the School.  The Academic Council considers all such applications and recommends deserving cases on the basis of student’s overall performance and parents’ income.

 

Catchpole Scholarship

            This scholarship is paid out of the grant left behind by Mr Hugh Catchpole (late), former Principal PAF Public School Sargodha (1958 – 1967).  It is awarded for one year to two students who achieve top position in their respective entries in the Board Examination for class 10 and 1st year.

 

Rizwanullah Khan ( Shaheed ) Trust Scholarship

            Air Commodore Riazwanullah Khan, an ex-Sargodhian, embraced martyrdom in Kohat accident.  The trust in his name offers a scholarship every year to a student which continues from class 10th to 2nd year.  The award of scholarship is based on the student’s academic performance, parent’s income and overall performance at the School.

 

Air Cdre Inam & Col Ayub Scholarship:

            This scholarship is donated by two old Sargodhians.  The Scholarship is named after the late fathers of the two donors. This Scholarship will be awarded to two deserving sons of NCOs / JCOs based on their Academic performance at the school and parent's income.

 

Q-29   Do the students wear Air Force uniform?

 

Ans:    No, they use the School uniform during their stay at School.  They will follow the dress code of Pakistan Air Force in the PAF Academy Risalpur.
