ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
(a) Age: The candidate must be over 11 ˝ years or under 13 ˝ years of age on 1st January of Admission Year. No relaxation whatsoever, in the age limit is permitted.
(b) Qualification: During selection the candidate should be in class VII / VIII. He must have passed class VII at the time of joining the School. The boys studying in 9th and above or 6th and below are not eligible.
(c) Citizenship: Must be a male citizen of Pakistan or Azad Kashmir.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The selection process consists of the following three phases:
Phase - I Written Test
Phase - II Preliminary Medical / Intelligence / Interview
Phase - III Final Medical by PAF’s Central Medical Board (CMB)
Phase – I Written Test
The eligible Candidates are required to appear in the following written tests:

All the tests are conducted on the same day at the centres opted by the candidates. For the convenience of both English and Urdu Medium boys, the Mathematics and General Science papers may be attempted either in English or Urdu. The use of a calculator in the Mathematics paper is not permitted. The results of the written test are displayed at the respective PAF Information and Selection Centres about a month after the test. Only the successful candidates in each phase are informed through mail to appear in the next phase.
The syllabi for the written test are given at the subsequent pages in the Prospectus. The test is a competitive examination, therefore, the syllabi given in the Prospectus are meant only for the general guidance of the candidates. While by and large the questions in the subjects concerned are based on the syllabi in vogue in various Textbook Boards in Pakistan, questions may be set in any form in any paper maintaining the basic features of the prescribed syllabi in each subject.
Phase – II (a) Preliminary Medical
The candidates qualifying the written test are called for preliminary medical test. This test will take place at the PAF Information and Selection Centres observing the basic medical standards for Flying Branch of Pakistan Air Force. The candidate should be free from deformities of hands, feet, spine and chest e.g. Hallus Valgus (inward rotation of the toe), Flat Feet (feet not having normal curve), Knocking Knees (knees striking with each other while standing erect and running), Overriding of Toes, etc. The visual and hearing systems should be in perfect condition. Moreover, the candidate should not be affected by skin and dental diseases. The Torso Height should fall between the laid down upper and lower limits for the Flying Branch. There should be no squint, defective vision and colour blindness.
IMPORTANT : The candidates must have an eye sight 6 X 6 without glasses. The candidates, who wear glasses, should not apply. Opinion of the PAF Medical Officer conducting the test is final. No appeal in this regard is admissible.
Phase – II (b) Interview
The successful candidates in preliminary medical are given intelligence test and are interviewed by an Interview Board. The candidate is asked questions about the basic general / subject knowledge. The Board also determines the personality, character traits, comprehension, expression, emotional stability and confidence of the candidate. The results of the interview will be available at the School Website (www.ppss.edu.pk)
Phase - III Final Medical (CMB)
The candidates selected in interview are called for the Final Medical Test at Islamabad, Sargodha and Karachi. PAF’s Central Medical Board thoroughly examines the candidates according to the requirements of Flying Branch.
Final Selection
The candidates who qualify the CMB are included in the merit list for the final selection. There is no provision of reserved seats or quota of any kind at this institution. The list of finally selected candidates will be available at the School Website. The call up letter along with joining instructions will also be sent to them.
FINAL SELECTION WILL BE MADE STRICTLY IN ORDER OF MERIT. THE RESULTS ARE CONFIDENTIAL AND NO CORRESPONDENCE SHALL BE ENTERTAINED IN THIS CONNECTION. NO APPEAL SHALL BE ENTERTAINED AGAINST THE MEDICAL DECISIONS.
Examination Centres
Written test / preliminary medical / interview and the Final Medical Test is held at the following centres. While selecting the written test centre, a candidate should see his convenience to appear for Preliminary Medical / Interview and Final Medical at respective places mentioned in the table given below:

NOTE:
In case, it is not feasible to hold the written test, interview or Final Medical at any of the Centres mentioned above, the candidates of that centre shall be asked to appear at another centre.
Admission Form
The School Prospectus, which can be obtained from all the PAF Information & Selection Centres and also from PAF Public School, Sargodha, contains an admission form. The details regarding submission of admission forms are advertised in the leading English and Urdu daily newspapers. Roll number slips are sent to the eligible candidates within a reasonable period after the last date of the receipt of applications.Bond Liability
The selected students are required to join Pakistan Air Force after having completed their training at PAF Public School, Sargodha. The Parents / Guardians of students would be required to furnish a bond to the effect that their son / ward would serve the Flying / Engineering or any other Branch of Pakistan Air Force.School Dues
Tuition Fee, Messing, Medical care, Textbooks and Uniform are provided free by the School. However, School Development Fund @ Rs 1500/ - per month up to Matric and Rs 1700/ - per month for FSc classes are charged from the parents for supplementary welfare, pocket money, recreational programmes and other student related activities not catered for by the PAF. The payment is to be made on six monthly basis by a bank draft in favour of Principal PAF Public School Sargodha. These charges may be increased to cater for inflation.Scholarships
In Addition to the scholarships offered by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sargodha, following scholarships are offered to students for their outstanding performance in academics.a ) Chief of the Air staff Scholarship
This scholarship is granted from the School funds. A percentage of School dues is waived off for the recipients. CAS scholarship is awarded to only those students whose parents apply for financial assistance from the School. The Academic Council considers all such applications and recommends deserving cases on the basis of student’s overall performance and parents’ income.b ) Catchpole Scholarship
This scholarship is paid out of the grant left behind by Mr Hugh Catchpole (late), former Principal PAF Public School Sargodha (1958 – 1967). It is awarded for one year to two students who achieve top position in their respective entries in the Board Examination for class 10 and 1st year.c ) Rizwanullah Khan ( Shaheed ) Trust Scholarship
Air Commodore Riazwanullah Khan, an ex-Sargodhian, embraced martyrdom in Kohat accident in 2003. The trust in his name offers a scholarship every year to a student which continues from class 9th to 2nd year. The award of scholarship is based on the student’s academic performance, parent’s income and overall performance at the School.d ) Air Cdre Inam & Col Ayub Scholarship:
This scholarship is donated by two old Sargodhians. The Scholarship is named after the late fathers of the two donors. This Scholarship will be awarded to two deserving sons of NCOs / JCOs based on their Academic performance at the school and parent's income.ADMISSION SCHEDULE 2012
